3M(TM) Overspray Masking Liquid is a water soluble coating designed to protect vehicles from paint and primer overspray. It is recommended for application prior to painting or priming, and may be applied to all vehicle surfaces including paint, glass, chrome, aluminum, plastic, vinyl and rubber.

Unlike masking paper or plastic, 3M(TM) Overspray Masking Liquid effectively coats all vehicle surfaces including wheels, grills, windshields, bumpers and body panels. As a result, additional buffing of adjacent panels to remove overspray is eliminated.

Field and laboratory results show that 3M(TM) Overspray Masking Liquid provides protection against overspray from all refinish paints and primers, and can be used with bake or air dry type paints. OML is designed to prevent gentle paint overspray mist from getting on the vehicle. It is not designed to take a direct hit of paint.

Since Masking liquid remains Wet or tacky, the vehicle may be painted immediately after product application.

Once the paint dries, Masking Liquid and overspray may be washed off with a garden hose or pressure washer. Masking Liquid remains water soluble and can be washed off even if it has been left on for weeks. Furthermore, if left on the vehicle until detailing, 3M(TM) Overspray Masking Liquid may be used in place of detergent during the final wash.
